Is a timeless story of resistance, one that playfully weaves together influences as broad-reaching as the true story of Weather Underground and cinematic depictions of rebellion, but it's also a remarkably propulsive, fun, and eventually moving piece of work about the human beings caught up in the chaotic machine.Brian Tallerico, RogerEbert.com · we gave it 90

Brian Tallerico, RogerEbert.com · quoted in Wikipedia, original not read by us · FP000075A father-daughter epic, with an unusually personal gush of feeling. You can count on one hand the number of scenes that Bob and Willa share, but their connection – a swirl of protectiveness, exasperation, and fiercely unconditional love – binds the movie and its madly whirling parts together.

David Ehrlich, IndieWire · quoted in Wikipedia, original not read by us · FP000079Worth reading because it is late. The six critics we counted all filed in release week and none scored it under 80. Given a few months, this room settles on really good, not quite great, and is careful about why: the performances and the direction hold, the highs do not reach the director's own best. It also does the thing a thread can do and a review cannot, which is correct itself in public when somebody claims the film was a late play for awards and gets told it was started twenty years ago.
